Todd finds a flyer for a FeministFilmFestival the day he finds a book by the renowned documentarian-Ivan Libragi. Inspired, he reaches out for help in his quest to make an epic about the women in his family; Libragi decides to document Todd's ineptitude. A high-school classmate-Rebecca-is strangely eager to front the money for Todd's project. They head to Spokane-descending upon the unsuspecting women in Todd's family. He stumbles on the compelling story of his grandfather's disappearance, but somehow ignores the pull of this story, choosing instead to pursue his own asinine ideas. Along the way, he's blackmailed by his grandmother, stripped of funding and accused of kidnapping. Having lost his film, pride and the love of his life, Todd's pushed to the edge-literally.
